The Red Cross is helping people who are trying connect with people from the Oklahoma City area after a devastating tornado rolled through the area on Monday afternoon.
The Safe & Well site lets people either sign in and place themselves on the “Safe & Well” list or for concerned family and friends to search for people from the area.
Volunteers and first responders were searching through debris looking for survivors. Television footage showed first-responders picking through rubble and twisted metal.
Oklahoma City Police Capt. Dexter Nelson said downed power lines and open gas lines posed a risk in the aftermath of the system.
