According to
globalpost.com, the number of illegal immigrants dying on the Arizona border is on the decline.
The U.S. Border Patrol said undocumented immigrant deaths in Arizona are down 36 percent in 2013.
While the number of deaths have decreased, that could change with the increase in Valley temperatures.
A spokesman for the Border Patrol for the Tucson Sector said there’s a definite risk involved with the summer heat.
“The deaths have gone down, but as temperatures begin to rise in the desert, the dangers increase,” Andres Adame said.
Heat is one of the top dangers for immigrants trying to cross the border, but it isn’t the only problem. Another issue is the increased number of robberies and rape due to organized crime.
