PHOENIX — When Jodi Arias was convicted of first-degree murder on Wednesday, the friends and family of her slain boyfriend, Travis Alexander, felt a sense of relief.

“We got we wanted,” said Alexander’s friend, Dave Hall. “This is better than Christmas.”

Hall left the courthouse within minutes of the verdict and was greeted with loud cheers from the crowd.

Arias now faces life in prison or the death sentence.
