PHOENIX — The City of Kingman could be the main stop on historic Route 66 in 2014 if the city is selected for the Route 66 International Festival.
“Route 66 is an amazing phenomenon,” said Route 66 enthusiast and author. “The popularity has transformed this road into a living breathing time capsule with a hint of Disneyland.”
The decision will be made in August, but as it stands Kingman is the front runner. If chosen, the economy in Kingman and the Route 66 corridor would receive a significant boon to the economy.
Typically, tens of thousands of people from around the world attend the festival every year.
