Main Street Minute: Walmart hiring 1,200 in Arizona for seasonal work

• Walmart will hire more than 1,200 seasonal associates in Arizona for the holidays. The retailer will bring on more than 60,000 workers nationwide. Starting wages begin at $9 per hour.
• Construction is underway on a new tech-friendly apartment complex in Mesa. The Premiere at Dana Park is located near U.S. 60 and Val Vista Drive. The complex features “green” amenities such as car-charging stations and Wi-Fi thermostats. Rental units will be available next May.
• A second Phoenix location is in the works for a popular Arcadia neighborhood restaurant. Nook Kitchen will open inside the new Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Downtown in December. The restaurant offers a menu of Italian-inspired cuisine.
