Research shows Mexican attitude toward US improves

A recent poll indicated the Mexican outlook of the U.S. has improved since a number of states, including Arizona, approved stringent anti-immigration laws.

Pew Research Center found that 66 percent of Mexicans said they have a favorable attitude toward the U.S. In 2010, after Arizona passed SB 1070, only 44 percent looked at America in a positive manner once the law passed.

The report noted there was a clear distinction before and after Arizona’s immigration regulations were put into effect in 2010. The data showed 62 percent of Mexicans held the U.S. in favorable esteem prior to the Arizona law being ratified.

According to The Washington Post, those negative perspectives have declined in 2013.
