Food stamp rules may become more strict.
Phoenix Business Journal reported that State Rep. Kate Brophy McGee is sponsoring a measure that would prohibit adult-oriented businesses from accepting food stamps and debit cards from the federal program.
With the new measure, businesses that refuse to follow the rules could lose certain licenses, such as their liquor license.
The new state bill is a part of a nationwide movement requiring states to implement prohibitions on food stamps being used at adult businesses, with a five percent funding penalty on states that refuse to stifle their food stamp rules.
