Fatal crash closes WB State Route 74 near Carefree

Westbound State Route 74 was closed at Interstate 17 near Carefree, Ariz. after a fatal crash on Friday.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, two vehicle collided on the highway. One person was killed and a total of seven patients are being treated. Four of those patients are considered to be in serious condition.

Drivers attempting to reach Lake Pleasant from I-17 should take the Loop 303 westbound and exit at Lake Pleasant Highway.
