Main Street Minute: Nonprofit focused on kids chosen for $100K grant

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday on KTAR at 7:27 a.m.

• The Phoenix Suns have unveiled four single-game ticket value packs for fans this season. The Carl’s Junior value pack includes a ticket and a burger. Two self-explanatory packs — the Coors Light Guys’ Night Out and the All You Can Eat. There’s also a $5 kids’ package. The Suns tip off the regular season Wednesday night.

Playworks Arizona will pick up a big check from the Yelp Foundation on Tuesday morning — $100,000. The Phoenix-based nonprofit’s mission to make recess a positive and productive time for kids at 28 state schools caught the foundation’s grant-giving attention.

• A third Thirsty Lion Gastropub and Grill is in the works for the Valley. Developers plan to open the restaurant in Gilbert in the spring. The first Thirsty Lion opened at Tempe Marketplace in 2011.
