Wet, cool weather to blow through Phoenix ahead of Halloween

PHOENIX — Those little monsters and goblins may want to consider grabbing a sweater if they’re going to be staying out late this Halloween.
The forecast is calling for the Phoenix area to see some storms and a cooling trend ahead of Saturday’s hauntingly good times.
Hector Vasquez with the National Weather Service said highs will be about 90 through Wednesday, when a storm front from the Pacific Ocean is expected to blow into the state. Thursday’s high will be in the low 80s, while Friday should be about 75.
There is a 30 percent chance for showers through Friday afternoon, when the likelihood of rain drops to 20 percent.
The storm is expected to move out of the Phoenix area by Halloween, leaving behind a high of 75 degrees and low of 57. As far as trick-or-treating goes, Vasquez said the temperature will be hovering about 70 degrees when it’s time to go door-to-door in search of candy.
Should the storm drop some rain, it will push October’s rainfall to even higher than normal numbers. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport averages 0.58 inches of rain in October. Thus far in 2015, the airport has reported 0.61 inches.
