PHOENIX — An Arizona state senator says she’s pregnant and due to deliver
her baby in September.
Republican Sen. Kimberly Yee made the announcement Thursday at the start of the
Senate floor session.
The 39-year-old is married to Nelson Mar, a Phoenix-area dentist. This will be
the couple’s first child.
Yee represents District 20 covering north Phoenix and parts of Glendale. She is
a freshman senator who previously served a term in the House of Representatives.
She handed out small bags of candy to her colleagues and asked Senate President
Andy Biggs to try to ensure the Legislature has adjourned by her due date.
