Arizona women paid much fairer than most U.S. states

A new study from the National Partnership for Women & Families shows Phoenix women only earn 85 cents compared with every dollar made by the men.

The Phoenix Business Journal reported that there is an annual pay gap of nearly $6,700 for men compared to women working in the Phoenix area.

Phoenix’s pay gap is still a less than the national one of 77 cents to the dollar. The study found that Arizona pays women much fairer than the majority of states throughout the U.S.

Wyoming has the largest pay gap. On average, women earned 67 cents per every dollar men earned in Wyoming. In fact, Arizona had the sixth-smallest pay gap of all the states. Vermont has the smallest at 87 cents on the dollar.
