Fry’s Food Stores will soon be able charge more than food and gas prices.
According to the Phoenix Business Journal, Fry’s is planning to install Blink electric car charging stations at 28 Valley locations.
“As plug-in electric and hybrid cars are becoming more popular with our customers, we are pleased to offer the convenience of electric vehicle charging stations at more of our stores in markets with the highest demand,” said Keith Dailey, a Kroger spokesman, in a statement. “Kroger is excited to contribute to the growth of this national network.”
Fry’s parent company, Kroger, will spend about $1.5 million to install the chargers. After the install, Kroger will boast about 300 Blink chargers nationwide.
The Valley Blink stations are part of a nationwide push to expand the availability of charging stations.
