Arizona soldiers to deploy with Wyoming Army Guard unit next week

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Wyoming Army National Guard unit will be deployed
this month for a stint in the Persian Gulf region.

The Guard said 162 soldiers, including some from Arizona, in the Laramie-based 133rd Engineer Company will
deploy on April 12.

The unit will be deployed for 400 days and provide base security in Bahrain. It
will spend more than a month of training at Camp Shelby, Miss., followed by nine
months in Bahrain.

Lt. Col. Joseph Huss of the Wyoming Army National Guard said this is the first
non-engineering deployment in the unit’s history.

The 133rd company was last deployed in November 2004 to Iraq to perform
engineering missions.
