FLORENCE — Authorities in southern Arizona say a traffic stop led to the discovery of more than 560 pounds of marijuana in a stash house on the Tohono O’odham Indian Reservation.
The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office says a task force also found 10 people hiding during the raid Sunday.
A sheriff’s deputy had stopped a vehicle along State Route 84 near Stanfield that authorities were seeking for possible involvement in smuggling operations.
The sheriff’s office says a deputy detained the driver, and authorities were able to link the vehicle to a house in Cockleburr Village.
Authorities say the 10 people were in the United States illegally. Nine of them were booked into the county detention center. The other person was turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol.
