Mesa police search for missing woman

PHOENIX — Police in Mesa continue a search Friday for a woman whose last whereabouts may have been an apartment that showed signs of an altercation.

Blood was also found at the scene, near Dobson Road and Southern Avenue. Authorities believe Vanessa Mendoza, 27, lived there.

Police began investigating after receiving a call around 8 a.m. Thursday of a disturbance at the apartment. When officers arrived, the apartment was empty.
