PHOENIX — Former U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl has taken a new job with old roots.
The Arizona Republican out of Tucson is now a senior policy adviser for the Washington office
of the international lobbying and law firm of Covington and Burling.
Kyl said he will focus his work for the firm on clients dealing with the
federal government on issues related to taxes, health care, defense, national
security and intellectual property.
Kyl served 26 years in Congress. He left office in January after not running
for re-election last year.
Before being elected to Congress, Kyl practiced law in Arizona and headed what
is now the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Kyl said he plans to become an attorney with Covington & Burling but first must
be licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia.
