Phoenix man accused of fencing operation at store

CHANDLER, Ariz. — A man has been arrested for allegedly selling stolen
property at his mini-mart store in Phoenix.

Chandler police said Friday that 41-year-old Tarek Labadi was taken into
custody after a three-month undercover operation.

He’s being held on suspicion of multiple counts of buying and selling stolen

Officers were tipped off by Sam’s Club and Walmart investigators who say they
discovered the fencing operation while looking into thefts of their products
from two stores in Chandler.

Police say search warrants were executed at Labadi’s store and home in Phoenix.

They say nearly $50,000 in cash and property was seized along with five rifles
and two handguns.

Some of the stolen items Labadi allegedly was selling at his store were
televisions, computers, electronics, alcohol, cigarettes, personal hygiene
products and music headphones.
