Reporter caught in middle of Christopher Dorner firefight

A United States citizen with his nation's flag in hand attends a protest outside the U.S. embassy in Mexico City, Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017. About two dozen U.S. citizens gathered to demonstrate their disagreement with the immigration policies put forward by President Donald Trump, expressing concern that the administration appears to view Mexico as an adversary, rather than an ally. Sometimes reporters have to go to the news, sometimes it comes to them.

During coverage of the Christopher Dorner shootout with police, reporter Carter Evans gets caught in the middle of the firefight. He tells an anchor he is lying behind a vehicle before shots erupt.
