FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — A wintry storm moving through Arizona has dropped more
snow in the state’s northern and eastern mountain and is making driving tough
along interstates 17 and 40.
The National Weather Service in Flagstaff said winter storm warnings are being
allowed to expire Wednesday morning as the storm moves off to the east.
Flagstaff schools are on a two-hour delay.
Weather Service meteorologist Robert Rickey said preliminary reports show
Flagstaff got 3 to 4 inches of snow overnight, Jacob Lake on the Kaibab Plateau
received 6 inches and the community of McNary near Snow Low nearly 3 inches of
Interstates 40 and 17 are open but icy and blowing snow is making for low
The storm also brought rain to central Arizona, with heavy rain overnight in some spots in Phoenix.
