PHOENIX — Mesa Police are looking for a couple of Grinches who stole a donation jar filled with money intended for sick children.
The theft was caught on surveillance video during the Tuesday night incident.
Police spokesman Sgt. Tony Landato told Channel 3 that a man walked into the Walgreens at Alma School and Guadalupe roads, went to the counter and asked for cigarettes. When the clerk turned away, the suspect snatched the donation jar.
The man ran to a waiting car, driven by a woman.
The money was being collected to buy toys for patients at Cardon Children’s Hospital.
