Arizona beers score big in 2015 Great American Beer Festival

Four Arizona beers took home big awards from the recent 2015 Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colorado, according to the Phoenix Business Journal.
The festival awarded 275 medals to brews and breweries from across the country in the “largest commercial beer competition in the world,” according to a Brewers Association written release.
Magnolia’s Peach, from BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse in Chandler, won a gold medal, beating out 68 other entries in the fruit wheat beet category, according to a category listing of festival winners.

Beaver Street Brewery’s R&R Oatmeal Stout also won a gold medal in the oatmeal stout category, besting 72 other entries.
Tucson’s Barrio Brewing Co. scored a bronze medal with its Barrio Rojo Scottish-style amber ale.
The Husstler, from Huss Brewing Co. in Tempe, took home a bronze medal in the sweet stout or cream stout category.
California beers and breweries also fared well, winning four of seven 2015 Brewery and Brewer of the Year awards.
