A new report released Tuesday by the Pew Internet Project and Berkman Center for Internet & Society shows parents are concerned about their children’s online activities and how it might affect their privacy.
The “Parents, Teens and Online Privacy” report found that 81 percent of parents are concerned about how much information advertisers can learn about their child’s online behavior.
The report also said that 72 percent of parents are concerned how their child interacts online with people they don’t know, particularly parents of children ages 12-13.
A number of parents said they are talking with their children or monitoring the activity on family computers.
Some parents are connecting and engaging with their teens on social media sites while others are passively observing them.
