Kevin Kolb, Arizona Cardinals players to host charity event

On Nov. 16th, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb and his teammates will be raising money for the Pass It 4Ward foundation during the first annual “Celebs and Steaks” charity dinner.

“We’ll be dressed up as waiters, and waiting all the tables ourselves, and visiting with all of the guys and having a good time,” said Kolb, who was inspired to start the organization benefiting sick children while in high school after meeting an athlete who was seriously injured.

“It happened in a high school football game,” he said. “There was no media coverage, and nobody knows about it. I watched that impact their family over the years. Mom had to quit her job. They had to have a wheelchair-accessible van and there was lots of money involved. They were fighting to survive every day.”

The fundraiser will be happening at Donovan’s Steak and Chop House in Phoenix. Kolb promised all of the players will be on their best behavior.

“I’m sure they’ll have a list of things that we’ll have to follow, being that it is Donovan’s and it is a nice place,” he said. “We’ll have to keep our etiquette at a high level. This is not the football field, this is a restaurant. We’ll do our best to make sure that we’re trained up.”

Tickets are $250 dollars and $350 for VIPs. Reservations and more information are available at kevinkolb.org.

Kolb is recovering from a rib injury he suffered against Buffalo on Oct. 14th.
