GLENDALE, Ariz. – The American Red Cross is looking for volunteers to help “Make a Difference Day” a huge success in the city of Glendale on Saturday, October 27th.
“We are specifically piloting a resilience program in the zip code 85301 in the city of Glendale. Making sure our neighbors are prepared before, during and after a disaster,” Carla Garcia with the Black Canyon Chapter of the American Red Cross said.
The Red Cross reported that within the past four years there have been over 50 incidents requiring the response and assistance from the Red Cross. This includes 16 calls just last year.
“This is definitely a hot spot,” Garcia said.
Volunteers that are interested will be blanketing neighborhoods and spreading the word about fire safety and prevention.
