Pinal County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Elias Johnson has been placed on administrative leave, the agency said in a Wednesday release.
According to the release, Johnson was placed on leave Tuesday after “allegations of serious misconduct” were brought to the attention of another law enforcement agency.
“I have made a commitment to run a transparent and professional organization,” said Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu in the release. “We owe it to the citizens of Pinal County to complete thorough investigations when allegations involving misconduct are made against any of my employees. Public trust is not something that is given but rather earned through years of hard work.”
Calls to PCSO and Babeu requesting comments were not returned.
