The father of a missing Arizona baby testified on Monday that he received a text message from the child’s mother stating that she suffocated the child.
Logan McQuery told jurors he received text messages from Elizabeth Johnson saying she had killed baby Gabriel.
“She told me that she killed Gabriel,” he said in court. “I said, ‘No you didn’t.’ She said, ‘Yes. You made me. You made me kill my baby boy. I suffocated him until he turned blue and then put him in a diaper bag and put him in the dumpster.'”
McQuery said that Johnson claimed she was on a flight out of the country when she texted him. He turned his phone over to police.
Johnson is facing charges of custodial interference and kidnapping.
