Main Street Minute: Arizona agencies receive large Justice Department grants

• The Arizona Department of Public Safety has received more than $40 million in federal grants. The funds were awarded by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office for Victims of Crime and will be used largely to provide direct services to crime victims.
• The U.S. Department of Justice’s Office on Violence Against Women has given more than $600,000 in grants to the Catholic Community Services of Southern Arizona. The grants will fund legal services for victims of domestic violence, according to a press release.
• There is a big career fair in north Phoenix on Thursday. The event will run from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m at the Embassy Suites Phoenix-North near Interstate 17 and Greenway Road. More than a dozen companies will be on hand, hiring for positions in advertising, health care, solar, pest control and more.
