A Tempe woman made history on Thursday, becoming the first woman to an officiate an NFL football game.
Shannon Eastin was the line judge in the San Diego Chargers and Green Bay Packers preseason football game.
Eastin’s hat and whistle were taken from her after the game and immediately sent to the NFL Hall of Fame.
Eastin is one of the replacement officials who was hired because the regular season officials are currently involved in a labor dispute.
Eastin has been a high school and college official for 17 years.
