PHOENIX – A high school student in Phoenix is facing charges for allegedly
having two knives on campus and throwing one at a police officer.
Phoenix police say the 16-year-old girl is detained at a Maricopa County
juvenile center on suspicion of aggravated assault on a police officer and
disruption of an educational facility.
Police say North Canyon High School officials were notified around 8 a.m.
Thursday about a girl who was dressed in all black.
Arriving officers found the
girl in a hallway waving a bread knife and a steak knife.
They say she threw one knife at an officer before she was restrained and
The girl is a junior at the school, but her name wasn’t released. Thursday was
the second day of classes.
