Some monsoon damage may not be covered

That fierce storm that hit Anthem this week caused some serious roof damage and some of the damage may not be covered by warranty.
Michael Scheffe with Gecko Roofing said microbursts and torrential rains can sometimes be categorized as acts of God.
“It’s hard to anticipate a torrential downpour, a hurricane-type wind, that type of thing,” he said.
Scheffe said that most roofs are not built to handle the inch-and-a-half of rain that Anthem received in a 40 minute time span.
“Typically, they are not built to stand up to that kind of weather in that period of time,” he said.
Scheffe said anyone who needs a roof repair should consult with a certified contractor.
