Former Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was photographed with her astronaut husband, Mark Kelly, atop the French Alps on Monday.
According to MSNBC, Giffords and Kelly were in France to install a plaque that commemorated the installation of a particle detector on the International Space Station.
Giffords, who uses a wheelchair most of the time, rode a two-stage cable car to enjoy the views.
“Gaby is really enjoying this visit,” Kelly told friends and reporters. “This is a great day for us.”
This is Giffords’ first trip outside of the United States since she was shot in the head in January 2011.
