PHOENIX — A $2 million cash-only bond has been set for a man accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend by setting her on fire in their Phoenix apartment.
Phoenix police said 21-year-old Dwanddarrius J. Robinson is being held on suspicion of two counts of first-degree murder, arson of an occupied structure and kidnapping.
City firefighters extinguished a small blaze inside an apartment about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and found the body of 21-year-old Shaniqua Hall in a bedroom.
Authorities say Hall was due to give birth in a week or two.
Police say Hall was duct-taped and handcuffed before being set on fire, but the exact cause of death is pending a medical examiner’s report.
Robinson allegedly called 911 to report the apartment fire. Police say he’s denied involvement with his girlfriend’s death.
