PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department has identified the victim and suspect in a reported homicide taking place inside parking garage located at 1702 E Highland Avenue.
The victim has been identified as 68-year-old male Andre Ahern, who was the owner of Ahern & Associates located inside the aforementioned Highland Avenue address.
The suspect has been identified as 36-year-old Susana Nunez, who is said to have died as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Nunez is reported to have been an employee at Ahern & Associates for six years.
Though no information suggests that Ahern and Nunez had a relationship that was anything other than work related, Phoenix Police say there were indications that Nunez was experiencing “substantial troubles at home and work.”
Police were originally investigating the shooting deaths of two people found inside the parking garage Friday morning near downtown Phoenix.
Phoenix Fire Department Capt. Ardell Deliz said firefighters responded to the scene around 11 a.m. after witnesses told police they heard screams coming from the building’s parking garage area.
