Gunman dies outside Phoenix fast-food restaurant

PHOENIX — A gun-wielding man who terrorized employees and customers at a fast-food restaurant died of unknown causes during the incident, according to police.
The man entered the Jack in the Box at 2520 W. Glendale Ave. on Sunday night. He was described as agitated and acting erractically. After an employee tried but failed to calm down the man, the employee called police.
By then the man had pulled out a gun and fired two shots toward the ceiling. No one was injured and the four workers and two customers were able to escape.
Police were able to disarm him and take him outside, where he died and was pronounced by fire department paramedics. There was no evidence of trauma to the man.
