In honor of National Cheese Pizza Day (Sept. 5), I decided to visit one of Fired Pie’s 10 Valley locations.
With all the mouthwatering topping choices, I had to get a little more adventurous than just plain cheese in this visit to Fired Pie.
Custom pizza in minutes? Heck yea! I am a big fan of Fired Pie’s quick and convenient method. The casual environment is welcoming to families or in my case a dinner with friends.
A menu filled with pizzas and salads awaits, but for us particular people an assortment of ingredients are on display just ready for you to build your unique meal. I played it safe with my salad and ordered the Spicy Southwest Salad off the menu — chicken, roasted peppers, onions, olives, jalapeño and mozzarella with a chipotle ranch dressing gives these greens a delightful kick, and is a perfect meal starter.
As for the pizza, I went off the menu and decided to follow my cravings and design my own, which can get a bit tricky when having to narrow down all the choices. With the variety of sauces, vegetables, meats and herbs, the pizza options are limitless. I finally decided on tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, spicy sausage, pepperoni, onions and garlic then anxiously awaited as they popped it into the massive fire oven. In minutes I was chowing down on my delicious creation.
Don’t leave without indulging in the Fired Pookie, the favorite traditional pizza dessert — a baked chocolate chip cookie in a mini-skillet with vanilla ice cream. Yum!
Fired Pie is also a perfect place to stop after work and grab food to go. Who’s isn’t looking for a quick, quality meal to bring home after a long day? With all their locations, it can’t get much easier than this!
