I-17 now reopened after brush fire causes severe backup

Department of Public Safety Officers closed southbound Interstate 17 for
at mile-point 248 for hours Saturday afternoon after a growing brush fire
threatened
the area, but it has since been reopened.
Backups were reported of up to 20 miles, with many people out of their cars
complaining of heat exhaustion. One woman was taken to the hospital with
complaints of breathing trouble.
