Popular Valley eatery Cornish Pasty Co. is heading to Mill Avenue.
First reported by the Phoenix New Times, founder Dean Thomas confirmed the plans via email, writing that the small Tempe location – planned to open by 2016 – will serve a limited menu of pasties, or pastry turnovers filled with ingredients like meats, cheeses and vegetables.
The location at Mill Avenue and Fifth Street will also serve soups and grilled cheese sandwiches and is planned to offer a full bar.
The Tempe Mill Avenue location will not be the only new place pasty fans can indulge, as the company is finishing up on a location in Downtown Phoenix on Central Avenue and Monroe Street, slated to open shortly, according to posts from the company’s Facebook account.
Founded in 2005, the Cornish Pasty Co. opened its first location in Tempe and now has four locations in Mesa, Tempe, Scottsdale and one in Las Vegas, according to the eatery’s website.
