SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Jo-Jo is a recently adopted Cocker Spaniel-Golden Retriever mix.
On Thursday, he ran away from the home he was staying at near Jomax Road and Hayden.
“He is microchipped, and he is wearing a collar,” said owner Darcy Basinger. “He also has a shaved belly from a recent surgery.”
Basinger and her family have been out nearly 15 hours per day looking for the dog. According to Basinger, he was abused before he made it to Camp Cocker Animal Rescue in Los Angeles. He’s very timid, and shies away from humans and heavy traffic.
While searching for Jo-Jo, Basinger received help from an unlikely source.
“George Clooney adopted a cocker spaniel from the same rescue in LA,” she said. “His girlfriend, Stacy Kiebler, is a big advocate for animal rescues in general. She actually posted information on her Facebook page, and she tweeted about it.”
There is a $5,000 reward for Jo-Jo. Basinger said that, if someone sees him, it’s best to keep their distance and kneel down to not scare him. Basinger also asked that they call her at (626) 755-6875.
