Peoria man gets life in prison for murdering mom

PHOENIX — A Peoria man convicted of killing his mother and then hiding the
body in her vehicle has been sentenced to natural life in prison.
Maricopa County prosecutors said Dominic Chagolla, 33, was sentenced
Friday.
He was found guilty by a jury on April 30 of first-degree murder and
concealment of a body.
Glendale police said Maria Dolores Chagolla, 50 was reported missing on
Dec. 15, 2010.
Her body was found days later concealed by a blanket in the back seat of her
SUV.
According to authorities she had numerous injuries to the head, including both eyes.
Glendale police arrested Dominic Chagolla on Dec. 21, 2010. He was indicted on
a first-degree murder charge and pleaded not guilty in January 2011.
