Every Phoenix-area desert preserve will be subject to restrictions on the Fourth of July, said the Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department.
The preserves will remain open until 3 p.m., when the gates to all Phoenix parks will be closed.
In addition to the gates being closed early, there will be no fireworks, no open fires of any kind (including at established picnic areas), no alcohol, no glass beverage containers and no smoking outside of a vehicle allowed on the holiday.
