PHOENIX — Firefighters said they discovered the body of a woman after
putting out a fire at a Phoenix duplex.
The Arizona Republic reported firefighters responding to
a fire early Sunday found the victim in a front living room of the duplex.
Phoenix police spokesman Trent Crump said the woman was last seen in the
kitchen, where authorities believe the fire started.
Crump says the woman and some of her friends had been out drinking before
returning to the home on North 30th Drive near Thunderbird Road.
Authorities do not suspect foul play in her death.
Crump said a man believed to be the woman’s estranged husband was found dead
earlier this month near Gila Bend. The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is
investigating.
