Arizona job market still in the red after recession

Arizona is still lacking 229,200 jobs from the start of the recession in December of 2007.

According to the Phoenix Business Journal, Arizona’s 2.45 million job count in May 2012 is 8.6 percent lower than the beginning of the recession.

Only Nevada had a bigger drop at 12.2 percent.

An Arizona State University study said that Arizona lost 318,000 jobs during the recession, meaning the state has only re-filled 28 percent of the positions.
