TUCSON, Ariz. — Charges have been dismissed against two University of
Arizona students accused of sexually assaulting another student at a fraternity
party.
The Arizona Daily Star reported the Pima County
Attorney’s Office asked a judge Wednesday to drop the case against
Ellery Shane Gordon, 21, and Gregory William Haft, 19.
Prosecutors said there was a significant chance both men would not have been
convicted.
Both men were indicted in February on charges of sexual abuse, sexual assault
and kidnapping.
Police said the men are accused of locking a woman in a bedroom at the Pi Kappa
Phi fraternity house and forcing her to perform sex acts on them.
Gordon and Haft posted $50,000 bonds shortly after their arrest and received
permission to spend the summer in their home states.
