Shamrock Foods celebrates 90 years

PHOENIX — A family-owned Valley company is celebrating 90
years in business.

In 1922, Shamrock Farms had one Model T delivery truck, with
one route driver delivering glass milk bottles to houses.
Fast forward 90 years, the company has 1,000 trucks, 2,800
employees and a factory producing over 400 jugs of milk a
minute.

“We’ve grown to one of the top ten largest family-owned and
operated dairies in the country, and one of the top ten
broad line food-service distributors in Shamrock Foods as
well,” said Sandy Kelly, director of marketing for the
company.

Kelly said the company is celebrating with some special
things.

“We’re going to different retailers and Valley restaurants
and having this mobile activity tour where consumers can
come and sample products,” she said.
