Valley mayors Stanton, Smith joke it up in video

They sure know how to laugh at themselves.
In a new video, Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton and Mesa Mayor Scott Smith dance through their respective downtowns, stopping at restaurants, sports venues and museums.
It was Stanton and Smith’s way of celebrating being named best Democratic and Republican elected official, respectively, by the Arizona Capitol Times, which produced the video.
The three-minute parody of the 1970s sitcom Laverne and Shirley, named ‘Scott and Greg’ ends with the duo stopping at a state records office to obtain their birth certificates.
Stanton and Smith have key roles at the 80th Annual U.S. Conference of Mayors this week in Orlando, Fla. Smith was recently named vice president of the conference and will serve as its president in 2013.
