Last weekend for ‘Van Gogh Alive’ in Phoenix

It’s not necessarily an exhibit, but more like an experience.
Visitors to “Van Gogh Alive,” in its final weekend at the Arizona Science Center in downtown Phoenix, are immersed in light, sound, movement and color.
“This technology, as opposed to a painting hanging on a wall — which people may or may not appreciate — this is so powerful,” said Laura Martin of the Arizona Science Center.
“It really makes you feel reverent about the art. It’s just amazing — a unique experience.”
The exhibit combines Van Gogh’s creations, multimedia display technology and cinematic direction with over 3,000 images which are displayed on the floor, ceilings, giant screens, platform, and columns. It’s all synchronized to a classical score during the 30-minute program.
Date Night in Van Gogh is scheduled for Saturday. Visitors can explore the center, participate in a scavenger hunt or watch a Dorrance Planetarium show. Wine tasting and light bites will also be available, in addition to hundreds of hands-on exhibits.
The exhibit closes Sunday.
