An Arizona campground where a woman was attacked by a bear has been reopened, the Tonto National Force said in a Wednesday press release.
The Ponderosa campground was closed on May 31 after an Apache Junction woman was attacked by a bear. The goal of the closure was to preserve public safety while Arizona Game and Fish officials worked to trap the bear.
Though Game and Fish did not capture the bear, there has been no sign of bear activity in the area.
Officials said campers should still use caution in the area, as bear sightings have been on the rise statewide.
