TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) _ Authorities in southern Arizona are searching for two
brothers wanted for drug trafficking and money laundering.
Pima County Sheriff’s Department officials say 28-year-old Alejandro Ortiz
Guerana and 24-year-old Gerardo Guerena both may be hiding in Mexico.
Authorities say the brothers and five other people are accused of trafficking
and selling nearly $5 million worth of marijuana from 2005 until 2011.
Alejandro Guerena’s wife, her sister and their father were arrested May 9 on
drug trafficking and money laundering charges.
Deputies have been investigating the Guerena brothers since 2009.
A sheriff’s department SWAT team raided four homes connected to the Guerenas
and their relatives and seized cash and several other items in May 2011.
