PHOENIX — A Phoenix pharmaceutical executive, whose son and girlfriend’s
deaths were the subject of much media speculation, is keeping his son’s memory
alive through a new charity.
The Arizona Republic reported that Jonah Shacknai, 55,
has started MaxInMotion in memory of son Max. The nonprofit will help
underserved child athletes.
Shacknai, CEO of Scottsdale-based Medicis Pharmaceutical Corp., said
Wednesday that his son’s passion was sports, especially soccer.
The boy, 6, died in July 2011 after sustaining severe brain injuries from a fall
near a staircase at the family’s southern California mansion.
Shacknai’s girlfriend, who was watching him, was found hanging nude from a
balcony at the house two days later.
